TUF Gaming BE6500 Setup Guide

Setting up your Asus TUF Gaming BE6500 router can be done quickly using either a mobile app or a web browser.

Hardware Connection

  1. Prepare modem: Unplug your modem's power cable and remove any backup battery.

  2. Connect WAN port: Link your modem or Optical Network Terminal (ONT) to the blue WAN port on the router using the provided Ethernet cable.

  3. Power on: Plug in and power on your modem, wait for its lights to stabilize, then plug in and switch on the TUF router.

  4. Check status: Wait until the Wi-Fi indicators (2.4G and 5G) on the router turn solid.

Option 1: Mobile App Setup (Recommended)

  • Download app: Get the ASUS Router app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • Connect to Wi-Fi: Turn on your smartphone's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, then connect to the default network name (SSID) printed on the router’s bottom label.

  • Scan QR code: Open the app, tap the "+" sign to add a new router, select ASUS Wi-Fi router, and scan the QR code located on the product label.

  • Configure network: Follow the prompt to name your new Wi-Fi network and set a strong password.

  • Create admin credentials: Set a unique local username and password to log into the router management platform in the future.

Option 2: Web Browser Setup

  • Connect device: Use a computer to connect wirelessly to the default Wi-Fi network or plug an extra Ethernet cable into one of the router's LAN ports.

  • Open setup wizard: Open any web browser and go to http://router.asus.com or enter 192.168.50.1 into the address bar.

  • Run QIS: Follow the Quick Internet Setup (QIS) assistant on your screen.

  • Internet settings: Select your internet connection type (usually Automatic IP / DHCP unless your provider requires specific VLAN IDs or PPPoE credentials).

  • Finalize credentials: Set up your new Wi-Fi name, security password, and admin panel login credentials.
